Our Toddler’s Room program is based strongly on our children’s ideas and interests and is developed through working closely with each child and their family. We facilitate and encourage children to build on their knowledge and interests as they explore ideas and concepts, have experiences and gain understanding.
Documenting Progress
We document children’s experiences and learning through photos, artwork, observation, children’s documentation, recalled conversations and discussions had with them. With the children’s input these are then added to their portfolios and the Toddler’s Room journal.

Learning Outcomes
When we document our children’s learning from different activities or experiences we link it to Early Years Learning Framework, the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and five learning outcomes:
Outcome 1
Identify: Children have a strong sense of identityOutcome 2
Community: Children are connected with and contribute to their worldOutcome 3
Wellbeing: Children have a strong sense of wellbeingOutcome 4
Learning: Children are confident and involved learnersOutcome 5
Communication: Children are effective communicatorsThese outcomes are part of the Victorian and National learning frameworks; the documents are used by educators within the programs to extend and enrich children’s learning from birth to five years old and through to their school transition.
The frameworks form the foundation for ensuring children in early childhood education and care settings experience quality teaching and learning.
